EMPHASIS CHILDREN |

Special Emphasis children are:
-
Children determined to be at risk of abuse, neglect, or exploitation
- Current clients of the Family Safety Program Office of the Department of Children and Families
- At risk of welfare or dependancy
- Children of participants in the welfare transition program
- Children of migrant farm workers
- Children of teenage parents
- Children of working families (family income does not exceed 150% of federal poverty level)
- 3 and 4 year old children not economically disadvantaged but who have disabilities
- Economically disadvantaged children, children with disabilities, and children at risk for future school failure (0-4) who are served at home through home visitor programs and intensive parent education programs such as Florida First Start
